Questions worth asking of any sleep app
Does it require an account? An account exists so the vendor can attach your data to an identity, which is only necessary if the data is leaving your device.
Does the recording sync? "Encrypted in transit" describes how audio travels to somebody else’s server, not whether it should be travelling at all.
What is in the build? Ad networks and measurement SDKs report behaviour to third parties regardless of what the privacy page says about audio.
How SleepMemo answers them
There is no sign-in and nothing is uploaded. The build carries no ad networks and no measurement SDKs, and no recording of yours exists in any database the developer can reach.
Audio files are held back from device backups and protected by iOS file encryption, so a night is not quietly copied into a backup you forgot you had. One night, or the entire diary, can be erased whenever you decide.
Keeping less in the first place
The strongest privacy property here is not encryption, it is deletion. The full-night file is discarded once the moments have been extracted, and a night where nothing happened keeps no audio at all.
A diary of short clips is a much smaller thing to protect, to review, and to delete than eight hours of continuous bedroom audio.

Before you rely on any of this
Sleep Recorder is a personal audio diary. It does not measure sleep quality and is not a medical device. It cannot diagnose sleep apnea, breathing disorders or any health condition, and its sound suggestions can be wrong. If you are worried about your sleep or your breathing, speak with a qualified clinician.
