The short version
SleepMemo processes the information below only on your iPhone, to show you your own nights. Eutopix Labs does not collect, receive or have access to any of it. We do not share it with anyone and we do not sell it. You can delete it in the app at any time.
Consumer health data the app processes on your iPhone
- Overnight audio you choose to record with the microphone: a temporary full-night recording, short clips around sound moments, sound-energy measurements, waveform outlines and timestamps.
- Sound labels: suggestions made on your device by Apple's sound-classification framework, and the labels you confirm (for example snore, cough or speech).
- Your diary: when each night started and ended, its length and any gaps, notes you write, and context tags you choose (stressful day, late meal, alcohol, late caffeine, congested, travel, exercise, shared room, noisy room).
- Patterns the app works out on your device from your nights, such as moments per night or the busiest time of night.
- Apple Health sleep data (optional, Premium): sleep analysis read from Apple Health only if you turn the feature on and allow it in Apple's permission sheet. It is read-only, held in memory only while shown, never saved by the app and never written back to Health.
- Widget counts: a small file with moment counts, night length and review progress, kept in the app's container on your device for the widget and Live Activity. It holds no audio, notes or labels.
Why it is processed
Only to provide the features you use: recording your night, keeping and playing back clips, suggesting and storing labels, keeping your diary and notes, showing patterns and widgets, and, if you turn it on, showing Apple Health sleep data next to your sound moments. It is not used for advertising, profiling or any other purpose.
Where it comes from
From you and your iPhone: the microphone while you record, what you type or choose in the app, and, with your permission, Apple Health on your iPhone. We obtain no health data from anyone else.
Where it is kept
Recordings, clips and the diary are stored on your iPhone with iOS file protection and are excluded from device backups. SleepMemo has no account and no developer server or cloud for this data, and it does not use iCloud for it. Apple Health data stays in Apple Health.
Collection, sharing and sale
- Collection: Eutopix Labs collects none of this data. It is processed on your device and never sent to us.
- Sharing: we share none of it with third parties or affiliates. Eutopix Labs has no affiliates that receive it.
- Sale: we do not sell consumer health data.
- Third parties: none. Apple provides the iPhone, iOS and the on-device frameworks the app runs on, but SleepMemo does not send your health data to Apple.
If you choose Share summary, or save an audio file through Apple's share sheet, the item you select goes to the app or person you pick. That is your own sharing, which we neither see nor control. The ad-measurement values described in our privacy policy contain no audio, diary, label, note or Apple Health data.
Your rights and how to use them
- Access: everything is in the app on your iPhone, where you can view it.
- Delete: delete one night from its detail screen, or everything with Settings > Delete all diary data. Deleting the app removes all its data from the iPhone.
- Withdraw consent: turn off microphone access in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone, and Apple Health access in the Health app under Sharing > Apps and Services > SleepMemo (or in the app's Settings).
- Questions or appeals: write to privacy@sleepmemo.app. Because we hold none of your health data, we have nothing to give you or delete on our side, but we will answer within 45 days and confirm this. If you disagree with our answer, reply to ask for an appeal; if the appeal is denied, you can contact the Washington State Attorney General or the Nevada Attorney General.
We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
Changes
If SleepMemo ever needs to collect or share consumer health data, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it. 14 October 2026: first version.
